Nice Airport has two terminals, and which Nice Airport Terminal you land at depends on your airline, not your destination. Terminal 1 handles carriers such as British Airways, Lufthansa, American Airlines and Ryanair, while Terminal 2 is home to Air France, easyJet, Delta and Emirates. The two are linked by a free shuttle and by tram, and the trip between them takes less than three minutes.
That matters more than it sounds. Nice Côte d’Azur is a busy airport: it welcomed 15.23 million commercial passengers in 2025, a record. Knowing your terminal before you fly saves you a wrong turn with a trolley full of luggage, and it tells your driver exactly where to wait.
This guide covers both terminals from an arriving passenger’s point of view: which airlines go where, how to switch terminals, what each one offers, and how to leave the airport by taxi, tram, train or private chauffeur.

ToggleWhich Nice Airport Terminal is my flight at?
Your terminal is set by your airline. The official airport lists British Airways, Lufthansa, American Airlines, United, Ryanair, Vueling, Swiss and TAP at Terminal 1, and Air France, easyJet, Delta, Emirates, KLM and Etihad at Terminal 2.
The airport’s own pages are the reference to trust, because airlines occasionally move. Check three places before you travel:
- Your booking confirmation or boarding pass. Many airlines show the departure terminal on one or both.
- The airline page on the airport website. The airlines directory shows the terminal next to each carrier, for example Aegean, airBaltic, Air Transat and American Airlines at T1.
- The departures board on the day. If anything changes at the last minute, this is where it shows first.
If you are being collected, send your flight number rather than the terminal. A driver who tracks the flight sees the terminal, the landing time and any delay in one place.
Terminal 1 airlines at a glance
Terminal 1 carries a strong international mix. The airport lists 39 airlines here, including long-haul and Gulf carriers such as Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines and Thai Airways, alongside European network airlines and low-cost operators like Ryanair and Vueling.
Terminal 2 airlines at a glance
Terminal 2 is the Nice Airport Terminal for Air France and easyJet. The airport lists 31 airlines here, including long-haul carriers such as Delta, Emirates, Etihad and Air Canada, plus KLM, Aer Lingus, Finnair and Wizz Air.
What is the difference between Nice Airport Terminal 1 and Terminal 2?
The main difference is the airline mix, not the facilities. Both terminals have more than forty shops and restaurants, a VIP lounge offer, fast-track security and direct tram access, so neither one is the “small” terminal in practice.
In practice, the terminal you use changes three things: where you queue for security, which lounge you can book, and how far you are from the Nice Saint-Augustin train station. Everything else, from taxis to trams, works the same way at each Nice Airport Terminal.
Here is how the two compare on the points arriving passengers ask about most:

How do I get between Nice Airport Terminal 1 and Terminal 2?
Take the free electric shuttle or the tram, both of which link the two terminals in under three minutes. According to the airport, the free shuttle runs every 15 minutes from 4:30 am until the last flight, at the latest 1:30 am, and trams 2 and B also connect T1 and T2.
A few practical points:
- The shuttle also serves the outer car parks (P4, P6, P8 and P9), so expect people with luggage heading to their cars as well as passengers changing terminal.
- The tram is free between the terminals. The airport describes the lines 2 and B service between Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Grand-Arénas as free of charge.
- Allow a buffer if you are connecting. Under three minutes is the ride itself. Add time for the wait, for leaving one terminal and for re-clearing security at the other.
If you land at one terminal and your onward flight leaves from the other, treat it as a real transfer, not a stroll. With checked bags, a separate security queue and possibly a new check-in, give yourself a comfortable margin.
The same applies if you are meeting someone off a flight. Check which Nice Airport Terminal their airline uses before you set off, because waiting at the wrong arrivals hall means a shuttle or tram ride just as they walk out of the other one. If you have booked a chauffeur for them, you do not need to go at all: the driver meets them at the right terminal and keeps you updated.
What will I find at Nice Airport Terminal 1?
Nice Airport Terminal 1 has more than forty shops and restaurants spread between the public area by the tram exit and the airside zone past security. The airport groups them into fashion, jewellery, gastronomy, beauty and souvenirs.
For premium travellers, Terminal 1 offers two VIP lounges, The Canopy and The Library, a fast-track lane through security and a Meet & Greet service.
Nice Airport Terminal 1 is also the closest terminal to the Nice Saint-Augustin train station. The airport describes a dedicated pedestrian walkway of under 500 metres, about a 7-minute walk from exit door A0. That makes T1 the easier terminal if you plan to catch a regional train towards Cannes, Antibes or Monaco.
What will I find at Nice Airport Terminal 2?
Nice Airport Terminal 2 matches Terminal 1 with more than forty shops and restaurants, landside and airside. It is the terminal most travellers on Air France and easyJet pass through.
On the premium side, Terminal 2 has the Infinity VIP lounge and its own fast-track lane. Long-haul arrivals from Delta and Emirates land here, so it is worth planning a comfortable ride for the end of a long journey.
Trams 2 and B serve the terminal, with shops and restaurants right by the tram exit, so you can reach the city centre or Terminal 1 without a taxi.

How do I get from each Nice Airport Terminal into the city?
From either terminal you can take the tram, a taxi, a train from the nearby station or a pre-booked private car. The tram is the slowest but simplest; a taxi or chauffeur takes you door to door.
By tram
Tram line 2 runs from both Nice Airport Terminal buildings into central Nice. The airport notes that it reaches Jean-Médecin, around 800 metres from the main Nice Ville railway station, and continues to Port Lympia. It is a good option if you travel light and are staying near a stop.
By train
The Nice Saint-Augustin station sits next to the airport. Trains on the Cannes–Nice–Monaco–Menton line run every 15 minutes on weekdays from 5:50 am to 10 pm, then every 30 minutes until 11:30 pm. It is the fastest public option along the coast, as long as you are happy to handle your own luggage on the platform and at the other end. Remember that the train stops at stations, not at your hotel or villa, so you may still need a taxi for the last part of the journey.
By taxi
Taxis wait at entrance A3 at each Nice Airport Terminal. Nice airport taxis use fixed fares for 2026: €32 to central Nice, €72 to Antibes or Juan-les-Pins, €85 to Cannes and €95 to Monaco.

Where do Uber and ride-hailing cars pick up at each Nice Airport Terminal?
Ride-hailing cars do not wait inside the terminal. Uber asks riders at Nice to order while waiting for their bags, then walk to the Kiss-and-Fly section of their terminal, where the driver picks them up.
That works well when you travel light and the app finds a car quickly. It is less comfortable with several suitcases, tired children or a late-night landing, because you order, wait and then find the pickup area yourself. It is also why we compare the options in our guide on whether Uber is cheaper than a taxi in Nice.
A pre-booked chauffeur works the other way round: the driver comes to you inside the arrivals hall of your Nice Airport Terminal, so you walk straight from baggage reclaim to someone who already knows your name and your flight.
Where will my private chauffeur meet me at Nice Airport?
With a pre-booked chauffeur, you are met inside the arrivals hall of your Nice Airport Terminal, so there is no queue and no hunting for a car park. Your driver follows the flight, adjusts to any delay and waits for you with your name.

At Luxotica, meet and greet and real-time flight tracking come with every airport transfer. Our chauffeurs help with your luggage and walk you to a Mercedes S-Class or V-Class waiting nearby. You agree a fixed price when you book, so a late landing or heavy traffic does not change what you pay.
That is the practical difference from the taxi rank. A taxi is fine for a quick trip into Nice with one bag. A private transfer makes more sense when you land late, travel as a family, carry skis or golf bags, or head further along the coast to Cannes, Monaco or a villa in the hills.
Is a private transfer better than a taxi from Nice Airport?
It depends on where you are going and how you travel. For a solo trip to central Nice with hand luggage, the €32 fixed taxi fare is hard to beat; for a family, a late arrival or a longer ride to Cannes, Monaco or Saint-Tropez, a pre-booked chauffeur removes the waiting and the uncertainty.
Here is how we would think about it:
- Certainty. A pre-booked car is reserved for you. You do not depend on the length of the taxi queue at the moment you land.
- The welcome. Your chauffeur meets you inside the terminal instead of at the kerb, which helps after a long-haul flight or with children.
- Space. A Mercedes V-Class seats seven with seven bags, which a standard taxi cannot match.
- One price, agreed in advance. You know the cost before you travel, whatever the traffic.

How do I get to the right Nice Airport Terminal for my departure?
Check which terminal your airline uses before you leave, then give your driver the airline name as well as the flight time. If you arrive at the wrong Nice Airport Terminal by mistake, the free shuttle or the tram takes you to the other one in under three minutes.
A few habits make departures smoother:
- Confirm the terminal the day before. Use your booking or the airlines directory on the airport website.
- Plan the trip, not just the drive. Allow time for traffic on the coast road, check-in, bag drop and security at your Nice Airport Terminal.
- Keep the shuttle in mind as a safety net. It runs every 15 minutes from 4:30 am, so an early flight from the “other” terminal is still manageable.
When we drive you to the airport, we take you to the terminal your airline uses and plan the pickup time around your flight, so you are not rushing at the end.
Is there help at Nice Airport Terminal 1 and 2 for reduced mobility?
Yes. According to the airport, its special assistance team helps arriving passengers from the moment they leave the aircraft, or from their seat if needed, through to the arrivals hall, the taxi stand, the car parks and the tram stop.
If someone in your party needs assistance, request it when you book your flight and tell us when you book your transfer. That way we can plan the pickup around the assistance team’s timing and send a Mercedes V-Class if you need extra space for a wheelchair or walking frame.
What should I do before I land at Nice Airport?
Confirm your terminal, share your flight number with whoever collects you, and save your driver’s contact details. Those three steps prevent most arrival problems at either Nice Airport Terminal.
A short checklist:
- Check your terminal on your boarding pass or the airline’s page on the airport website.
- Send your flight number, not only your landing time, to your driver or hotel.
- Keep your phone switched on after landing so your chauffeur can reach you.
- Tell us about extra luggage such as skis, golf bags or a pushchair when you book, so we send the right vehicle.
- Request assistance in advance if anyone in your party needs help moving through the Nice Airport Terminal. The airport’s special assistance team can take you from the aircraft to the taxi stand or tram stop.
