What is the airport in Cannes called?

The airport in Cannes is Cannes-Mandelieu Airport (Aéroport Cannes Mandelieu). It sits between Cannes and Mandelieu-la-Napoule, about 15 minutes from the city centre and the Palais des Festivals, and it is reserved for business and private aviation.

The airport describes itself as the second business aviation airport in France and as a complement to Nice Côte d’Azur, which handles the scheduled commercial flights. Its three roles are business and tourist aviation, emergency and firefighting missions, and training for aviation careers (Cannes Mandelieu Airport). Cannes Tourism adds that it ranks second for business aviation after Paris-Le Bourget (Cannes Tourism). It lies 5 km west of Cannes, uses the codes CEQ (IATA) and LFMD (ICAO), and is run by Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur, the same operator as Nice airport (Wikipedia, FlightAware).

Practical details from the airport’s own access page: it is reached from the A8 motorway at exit 41, there is a taxi rank and free parking a few steps from the terminal, Europcar and Hertz have car hire desks, and you can even arrive by boat through the Port du Béal next door.

Can you fly commercially into Cannes?

No. No airline sells scheduled flights to Cannes-Mandelieu, so if you search for “flights to Cannes” you will be booked into Nice. Even easyJet’s Cannes page explains that flights to Cannes arrive at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (easyJet).

Some flight comparison sites list “Cannes Mandelieu (CEQ)” as a destination. In practice that means a private charter, not a ticket on a regular airline.

What airport do you fly into for Cannes?

You fly into Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE). It is the closest airport to Cannes with airline flights, 27 km away, and it hosts nearly 50 airlines (Cannes Tourism).

Nice calls itself France’s leading airport outside Paris. From the United States, Delta, La Compagnie and United fly non-stop between Nice and New York (Nice Côte d’Azur Airport), and Delta’s Nice to Boston route, launched in May 2026, became the airport’s seventh route to the US (Aéroport Nice Côte d’Azur press releases). How far is Nice Airport from Cannes?

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is 27 km from Cannes, and Cannes Tourism says Cannes can be reached in less than 30 minutes. In real traffic, allow 30 to 40 minutes by taxi, which is the range given by the Cannes Lions festival’s travel page (Cannes Lions).

How do you get from Nice Airport to Cannes?

You have four options: the ZOU! 81 express bus, the train from Nice Saint-Augustin, a taxi at a fixed fare, or a pre-booked private chauffeur. The bus and train are cheapest, the taxi is simplest at the rank, and a chauffeur is best for luggage, groups and late arrivals.

By bus: ZOU! Express line 81, step by step

1. Go to the Terminal 2 bus station on the arrivals level, through exit doors A1 or A3. Line 81 leaves from bay 2. At Terminal 1, the stop is outside exit door A0 (Nice Airport).
2. Buy your ticket in advance by SMS, online or at an agency for €21.40, or on board for €21.80. Children under 4 travel free and children aged 4 to 11 get 50% off.
3. Ride the motorway to Cannes. The bus stops at Le Cannet (Place Benidorm) and ends at Cannes Gare SNCF, in the town centre. The 07:35 from Terminal 2 is timed to reach Cannes at 08:30.
4. Watch the last departure. The final bus leaves Terminal 2 at 21:55 and reaches Cannes at 22:46. In the other direction, the first bus leaves Cannes at 05:10 and reaches the airport at 05:55.

Times and fares come from the ZOU! line 81 timetable and are given for normal traffic. Some tourism pages still show the older €20.50 fare.

By train: tram to Nice Saint-Augustin, then TER

There is no station inside the airport. Take the free tram (lines 2 or B) from either terminal to the Grand Arénas stop, or walk about 7 minutes from Terminal 1 (exit door A0) along the pedestrian walkway to Nice Saint-Augustin station. From there, trains towards Cannes run every 15 minutes on weekdays from 05:50 to 22:00, then every 30 minutes until 23:30, with later trains at weekends (Nice Airport).

The full single fare from Nice to Cannes is €9.70, or €6.80 with a ZOU! discount card (TER Sud). The train takes roughly 25 to 40 minutes depending on the stops, and Cannes station is less than 7 minutes’ walk from the Palais des Festivals (Cannes Convention Bureau).

By taxi or Uber

Taxis from Nice Airport to Cannes charge a fixed fare of €85 in 2026, the same as in 2025 (Nice Airport, Service Public). Some event guides still quote €88, which is out of date. Our article on how much a taxi costs from Nice to Cannes covers the details.

Are there other ways to fly into Cannes?

Yes, by helicopter. Cannes has a public helipad at the end of the old port jetty, between the two lighthouses, used for on-demand helicopter transfers, and there is another helipad at Cannes-Mandelieu Airport (Cannes Tourism).

Marseille Provence Airport is sometimes suggested as an alternative, but it is much further away: the train from Marseille to Cannes alone takes about 2 hours (Cannes Tourism). For most trips, Nice is the sensible choice.

Which option would a local chauffeur choose?

Fly into Nice, then pick the transfer that suits your arrival time, your luggage and who you are travelling with. This is what we tell clients heading to Cannes:

• Take the train if you travel light, land during the day and want the cheapest option. It is frequent and avoids motorway traffic.
• Take bus 81 if you want one direct ride with no changes and your flight lands before about 21:30.
• Take a taxi if you are two or three people with normal luggage and simply want to go: the €85 fixed fare is clear.
• Book a private chauffeur if you land after the last bus, have an early morning flight home (the first bus from Cannes only reaches the airport at 05:55), travel as a family or group, or are coming for the Film Festival, MIPIM or Cannes Lions, when the whole town is busy.

What is the best way to get from Cannes to Saint-Tropez?

For a summer day trip, the direct boat is the best way: no traffic, no parking and about five hours in the village. For an overnight stay, luggage or travel outside the boat season, go by road, either by car or with a private transfer. The train and bus is the cheapest option but takes the longest.

Is there a ferry from Cannes to Saint-Tropez?

Yes. Trans Côte d’Azur runs one direct boat a day from Cannes to Saint-Tropez on its operating days. The crossing takes 1 hour 15 minutes and you get five hours in Saint-Tropez before the boat sails back.

The 2026 timetable is the same on every sailing day: depart Cannes at 10:15, arrive in Saint-Tropez at 11:30, leave Saint-Tropez at 16:30 and arrive back in Cannes at 17:45. The boat lands at the Estacade and Quai Guépratte in Saint-Tropez, close to the harbour and the old town.

How much is the ferry from Cannes to Saint-Tropez?

The 2026 return fare is €71 for adults and €59 for children aged 4 to 10, and the youngest children travel free. Many guides and even Google’s AI answer still quote €65, which is an older price.

Three things the booking sites rarely mention:

• It is a day return only. The ticket is valid for a round trip leaving and returning on the same day, so it does not work if you are staying overnight in Saint-Tropez.
• Reservation is required, and tickets for cruise excursions are paid for and collected at the ticket office (Quai Laubeuf or 20 Quai Saint-Pierre in Cannes) by noon the day before at the latest.
• Tickets are non-refundable. If Trans Côte d’Azur cancels a sailing, you get a refund or a new date. Arrive at the quay at least 15 minutes before departure. Dogs are allowed on a lead.

Can you get from Cannes to Saint-Tropez by train?

Not directly. Saint-Tropez has no railway station. Take a TER train from Cannes to Saint-Raphaël-Valescure, then the ZOU! bus 876 or, in season, a boat for the last stretch.

1. Train from Cannes to Saint-Raphaël-Valescure. Direct TER trains take about 22 to 35 minutes, with trains through the day. The full single fare is €10.20, or €7.20 with a ZOU! Malin discount card (TER Sud, SNCF Connect).
2. Walk to the Saint-Raphaël bus station (gare routière, 100 rue Victor Hugo), next to the railway station (Saint-Tropez Tourisme).
3. Take ZOU! bus 876 to Saint-Tropez. From 1 September to 25 October 2026 it leaves Saint-Raphaël daily at 06:15, 07:15, 08:15, 09:15, 11:15, 13:15, 15:15, 16:15, 17:15, 18:15, 19:15 and 20:15, via Fréjus, Sainte-Maxime and Grimaud.
4. Arrive at Saint-Tropez bus station about 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours later, depending on the departure. The bus costs €3 (Ville de Saint-Tropez).

For the way back, the last 876 bus in the same timetable leaves Saint-Tropez at 20:45 and reaches Saint-Raphaël at 22:15 (ZOU! line 876). Bus timetables change with the seasons, so check the current sheet on the ZOU! website before you travel.

Is there a boat from Saint-Raphaël to Saint-Tropez?

Yes. Les Bateaux Bleus sail from the Gare Maritime on Quai Amiral Nomy in Saint-Raphaël to Saint-Tropez in about one hour. In 2026 a single costs €28.50 for adults and €12 for children aged 4 to 11, and a return costs €43.50.

From June the shuttle runs every day with four departures (09:30, 11:30, 14:30 and 16:30). In spring, September and October it sails on set days only, with departures at 09:30 and 14:30. The company can cancel or change sailings for weather or low demand (Les Bateaux Bleus 2026). The season runs from 4 April to 31 October 2026 (Côte d’Azur France).

How far is St Tropez from Cannes by car?

Saint-Tropez is about 88 km from Cannes by road, and the average drive takes about 1 hour 45 minutes (Uber). In July and August, allow much longer for the final stretch into the village.

There are two ways to drive. The faster one uses the A8 motorway inland before dropping down to the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The slower one follows the coast past Théoule-sur-Mer and the red rocks of the Estérel, then through Saint-Raphaël and Sainte-Maxime. It is beautiful, but narrow and slow in summer.

Saint-Tropez’s own tourist office warns that in July and August there is heavy traffic during the day and car parks fill quickly, and that the Place des Lices area is very busy on Tuesday and Saturday market mornings (Saint-Tropez Tourisme). The largest car park is the Parking du Nouveau Port on Avenue du Général de Gaulle, with about 1,400 spaces (Saint-Tropez parking). On-street parking is paid every day from 1 April to 11 November.

How much is an Uber or taxi from Cannes to Saint-Tropez?

Uber puts the average price of a ride from Cannes to Saint-Tropez at about €111, for an average trip of 107 minutes. This is a historical average, so the price in your app can be higher at busy times.

You can request an Uber in Cannes at any time, or reserve one from 2 hours to 90 days ahead where Uber Reserve is available (Uber). Can you do a day trip from Cannes to Saint-Tropez?

Yes. The direct boat gives you about five hours in Saint-Tropez, from 11:30 to 16:30, which is enough for the harbour, the old town, the Citadelle and lunch. If you want a beach afternoon at Pampelonne as well, a car or chauffeur gives you more control over your time.

Plan around the market: it takes place on the Place des Lices on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, as Trans Côte d’Azur reminds passengers. Those are also the busiest mornings for traffic.

Which option would a local chauffeur choose?

It depends on the season, your luggage and whether you are coming back the same day. This is what we tell clients staying in Cannes:

• Take the direct boat for a day trip between mid-May and mid-October, if it sails on your date and you travel light.

Where is the Uber pickup at Nice Airport?

Uber pickups at Nice Airport happen in the Parking Pro area at both terminals. You reach it through Exit D4 at Terminal 1 and Exit A3 at Terminal 2. Drop-offs are simpler: your driver leaves you at the curb on the departures level.

Check your terminal before you land. Uber’s airline list for NCE puts British Airways, American Airlines and Aer Lingus at Terminal 1, and Emirates, Delta and Air Corsica at Terminal 2, while Air France uses both (Uber NCE). How do you find your Uber at Nice Airport Terminal 1?

At Terminal 1, walk from baggage claim into the Departures hall and leave through door D4. It is a short, signposted walk; the signs to follow say “Parking Pro – Ride App Pick-up”.

1. After collecting your bags, turn right and walk to the Departures hall.
2. Continue straight towards Exit D4, following the “Parking Pro – Ride App Pick-up” signs.
3. Turn left and leave the terminal through door D4.
4. Keep straight on, following the same signs, until you reach the Parking Pro pickup area.
5. Meet your driver there. Your driver may contact you to agree a different meeting point.

Once you are matched with a driver, tap “Directions to pickup” in the app. Uber warns that the general directions on the home screen may not match where you actually meet your driver, so check again after requesting (Uber NCE pickup).

How do you find your Uber at Nice Airport Terminal 2?

At Terminal 2, follow the yellow Taxi signs to Exit A3, then the Parking Pro signs. The taxi rank and the ride-app area start from the same exit, so look carefully at the signs once you are outside.

1. After collecting your bags, head towards Exit A3.
2. Follow the yellow Taxi signs towards Exit A3.
3. In the main hall, turn right and leave the terminal through Exit A3.
4. Go straight on and follow the “Parking Pro – Ride app Pick-up” signs.
5. Meet your driver in Parking Pro, and check the number plate shown in the app before you get in.

The official taxi rank is also at entrance A3 of both terminals (Nice Côte d’Azur Airport). Taxis wait at the rank; your Uber waits in Parking Pro. If a driver at the rank offers you a ride, it is a taxi, not your Uber.

Is the Uber pickup at Nice Airport still at Kiss and Fly?

No. Uber’s current airport pages send riders to Parking Pro through Exit D4 (Terminal 1) and Exit A3 (Terminal 2). The Kiss and Fly advice you still find online is out of date.

Uber’s own newsroom article, Using Uber at Nice International Airport, still tells riders to look for the Kiss-and-Fly section and lists only uberX, Berline and VAN. Several forum answers repeat this. Follow the current pickup pages and, above all, the directions in the app on the day.

Uber also points out that its terminal maps show UberX pickup zones, and that the exact spot can depend on your terminal, arrival time, airport rules and building works. Other ride options can have a different pickup point, which is one more reason to read the in-app directions after you are matched.

How much is an Uber from Nice Airport?

An UberX from Nice Airport averages about €21 to Nice, €39 to Antibes and €55 to Cannes. These are Uber’s average prices over the past month, not fixed fares, and the price in your app rises when demand is high.

Should you reserve your Uber at Nice Airport before you land?

Reserve if you land late in the evening, very early in the morning or on a busy summer day. Uber says driver arrival times can be longer for early or late flights, and a reserved ride locks in your price.

• How far ahead: from Nice Airport you can reserve up to 90 days in advance.
• Flight tracking: your driver is told about schedule changes to your flight.
• Price: you see the price up front, and it only changes if the route, duration or distance changes.
• Cancelling: free until 60 minutes before pickup, or while no driver has accepted the trip.
• Waiting time: for UberX, Comfort and UberXL, meet your driver within 45 minutes of your flight’s arrival before late fees apply. Uber’s premium categories allow 60 minutes.

Which Uber fits your luggage at Nice Airport?

An UberX usually takes 4 passengers and 2 suitcases. With more bags, choose UberXL or Van. Uber says luggage space is never guaranteed, so message your driver after you are matched if you have bulky bags.

• UberXL: groups of up to 6, or 4 with luggage; usually 3 suitcases.
• Van: up to 6 passengers with luggage, with top-rated drivers.

What should you do if you can’t find your Uber driver at Nice Airport?

Contact your driver through the app and confirm you are both at Parking Pro. Make sure you are not waiting at the terminal door or at the taxi rank by mistake.

1. Open “Directions to pickup” in the app to see your exact meeting spot.
2. Check you went out through the right exit: D4 at Terminal 1, A3 at Terminal 2.
3. Message or call your driver in the app. They may suggest another meeting point.
4. Match the number plate and the driver’s photo before you load your bags.
5. Pay only through the app. Do not agree to cancel the trip and pay the driver directly.

Uber is the cheapest car on average, the taxi is the easiest to find, the tram is the cheapest overall, and a private chauffeur is the only option that meets you inside the terminal.

Take an Uber when you travel light and your arrival time is predictable. Book a chauffeur when the pickup has to work first time: a late or delayed flight, children and suitcases, a group, or a guest you are responsible for.

From Nice Airport, Uber currently shows seven ride options, from Wait & Save at about €20 to Van at about €45. These are Uber’s published average prices for the airport to Nice, so the price in your app can be higher or lower.

• Hill villages at night. Getting dropped in Èze or Saint-Paul-de-Vence is easy. Getting a car to come back up for you late in the evening is less certain, so arrange the return before you go.
• Airport arrivals. The Parking Pro area is a walk from arrivals, and the 45-minute waiting limit on reserved rides starts when your flight lands, not when you clear passport control.

Isola 2000 sits at the head of the Tinée valley in the Alpes-Maritimes, next to the Mercantour National Park and close to the Italian border. It is about 90 km from Nice, according to Wikipedia, and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis puts it around 1 hour 30 minutes from the coast and the airport.

That makes it one of the very few big Alpine resorts you can reach from a Mediterranean beach in the same morning. The resort was purpose-built, opening in December 1971, and the area only became French in 1947.

How big is the Isola 2000 ski area?

The ski area has 120 km of runs on 43 pistes, from a base at 1,840 m to a top station at 2,610 m. Wikipedia lists 4 black, 11 red, 21 blue and 7 green runs, served by 2 gondolas, 9 chairlifts, 10 button lifts and a funicular.

When is the Isola 2000 ski season?

The ski season usually runs from early December to mid-April. For 2026–27, the first skiers are expected from Saturday 5 December 2026, according to Petites Affiches.

The busiest weeks are the Christmas holidays and the French February school holidays, when weekend roads and lift queues fill up. January and March are often the best value, with good snow and quieter slopes. Always check the snow report and the resort’s own website before you set off, because opening dates depend on conditions.

How much is a lift pass at Isola 2000?

An adult day pass cost €44 and a child pass (ages 5–11) €33 in the 2025–26 price list, according to Skiinfo. A 2-day adult pass cost €86 and a week €244.

Those figures give a good idea of the budget, but 2026–27 prices are published by the resort itself, so check the ski pass page on the official Isola 2000 website before buying. Buying online in advance often saves queueing at the ticket office on a Saturday morning.

How do I get from Nice to Isola 2000 by car?

By car, the resort is about 90 km from Nice: follow the Var valley north, turn into the Tinée valley and climb the final mountain road to the resort. Allow around 1 hour 30 minutes in normal conditions, more on snowy days or at weekends.

The last section climbs steadily with hairpins, so check the road conditions on Inforoutes 06 before leaving. In summer the road continues over the Col de la Lombarde into Italy; in winter that pass is closed.

Do I need snow chains to drive to Isola 2000?

Yes, you must be equipped. Under France’s mountain law, cars driving in listed mountain areas of the Alpes-Maritimes from 1 November to 31 March must carry snow chains or socks, or be fitted with winter tyres, according to the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture.

Most trains leave from Nice-Ville, the main station on avenue Thiers. Nice-Riquier, near the port, is handy if you stay in eastern Nice, but fewer trains stop there. Sit on the right-hand side heading to Monaco for sea views past Villefranche, Beaulieu and Èze.

When to avoid the train

Carriages are often packed from 8 to 9:30 am and from 5 to 7 pm in both directions, with commuters heading to and from Monaco. Travel after 9:30 am and you will usually get a seat.

Which exit should I use at Monaco station?

Monaco-Monte-Carlo station is underground, cut into the rock, with four main exits. Pick the one closest to where you are going and you will save a steep walk.

Bus 600 (formerly route 100) runs from Nice to Monaco and Menton along the Basse Corniche, every 10 to 15 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes at weekends. It costs €2.10 when you tap a contactless card or €2.50 in cash, according to Monaco Tribune.

The bus leaves from Square Normandie-Niémen near the port and stops in Villefranche, Beaulieu, Èze-sur-Mer and Cap-d’Ail. It is cheaper than the train and the views are excellent, but it can be slow in summer traffic and gets crowded.

Driving from Nice to Monaco

You can drive from Nice to Monaco in 30 to 45 minutes. Choose the Basse Corniche along the sea, the Moyenne Corniche via Èze, or the faster A8 motorway, which has tolls.

The drive itself is easy; arriving is the hard part. Expect heavy traffic at commuter times and paid public car parks in Monaco. During the Monaco Grand Prix several roads and tunnels close, which makes driving the worst option that week.

How do I get from Nice Airport to Monaco?

From Nice Airport you can take ZOU! express bus 80 (€21.40, every 30 minutes), the official taxi at a fixed €95, a helicopter in about 7 minutes from €195 per person, or walk to Nice Saint-Augustin station and catch the train.

Is Nice to Monaco a good day trip?

Yes. Nice to Monaco is one of the easiest day trips on the Riviera: you can see the Prince’s Palace, the old town on the Rock, the Oceanographic Museum, Port Hercule and the Casino square in a day, and be back in Nice for dinner.

Not directly. Saint-Tropez has no railway station, and the nearest one is in Saint-Raphaël. From Nice-Ville, TER and TGV trains reach Saint-Raphaël-Valescure in about an hour. From there you have two ways to continue:

Is there a train station at Nice Airport?

Yes. Nice Saint-Augustin station is less than 500 metres from the airport, and a dedicated pedestrian walkway gets you there from Terminal 1 (exit door A0) in about 7 minutes, according to the airport’s train page.

P4 and P6 are within walking distance, P2, P3 and P5 give direct access to the terminals, and G1 and G2 are premium options. The airport advertises special weekend rates from €49 for 3 days; other prices depend on dates, so book online to compare.
